Sea to Summit Spark Sp II Sleeping Bag

The Sea to Summit Spark Sp II light and compact sleeping bag is ideal for the size and weight conscious ultra-light backpacker or traveler who still wants the comfort and warmth of a sleeping bag. Additional 850+ Ultra-Dry Down® fill provides 3-season comfort with a lower limit temp rating of 35 F.

Testing Conditions

Camping and backpacking in Joshua Tree NP and the Eastern Sierra in summer and early fall. The lowest night temps I used it in were in the low 40’s.

Outcome

The size and weight are really appealing. The Spark Sp II compresses down to the size of a large grapefruit and only weighs 16.4 oz. It almost feels like a magic trick when you pull the tiny compression sack out of your bag and it turns into a sleeping bag. I tend to sleep cold and the bag was plenty warm. The nylon lining on the bag is super soft and smooth to the touch making for a comfortable nights sleep. The outer nylon lining is semi-translucent allowing you to see the down fill which makes it seem fragile, although the bag did not actually seem to be so.
