Good morning from Dallas/Fort Worth airport... Trekking across terminals this morning to make a connecting flight I was missing my morning hiking companions, both the 2-legged and 4-legged ones. Betty and I have been hiking regularly to Henninger Flats during the week with our friends Pamela (2-legged) and Lucy & Lu (4 legged). We love running into the Henninger regulars, but love meeting new friends too.

Today's "trail tail"'shout out goes to Shirona and her owner Jonathan. This special girl caught our eye because of her sweet face, but stole our hearts when we realized she was missing a back leg. She was chasing a lizard when her leg got caught in some rocks breaking her femur. Nothing is holding back this happy pup from an active energetic life! We hope to meet her on the trail again soon!
